Marc Emery

Marc Emery

Marc Emery, the world-famous “Prince of Pot”, is known for his essential role in the marijuana movement since the early 1990s. He helped make marijuana books and magazines legal in Canada, created Cannabis Culture magazine and Pot TV, and campaigned in elections at all levels of government since 1980.

Marc is best known for selling marijuana seeds to the United States and worldwide when no one else would, and donating millions of dollars to political election campaigns, court cases, and activist organizations.

In July 2005, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration had him arrested in Canada to face life in U.S. prison for funding the legalization movement with marijuana seed money. He was extradited in 2010 on a five-year plea deal sentence, and freed from US federal prison in 2014.

Marc continued his activism by opening his first cannabis retail store under the new Cannabis Culture dispensary model. In March this year, Marc and his wife Jodie were arrested for their Cannabis Culture retail stores, and he faces a possible life sentence – yet again – for his activism.
