Brad Peyton

Brad Peyton was born in Gander, Newfoundland, where the strangeness of rural isolation fueled his imagination. There, he pursued the visual arts, which eventually led to his passion for filmmaking.

Leaving Newfoundland to court this interest, Peyton made two short films that garnered him much international attention – Full, as well as Evelyn The Cutest Evil Dead Girl, which was made while a resident at the Canadian Film Centre.

Peyton’s venture into music videos has also received praise from Canada’s independent music scene and film community alike. His video for the Constantines’ Young Lions screened at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, and Royal City’s Bad Luck premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Peyton is currently creating a TV show called What It’s Like Being Alone for the CBC. He also has a feature film in development called The Spider and the Fly, with Tom Hanks’ production company, Playton, for Universal Studios, (Peyton is slated to write and direct
