John Beeden – Solo Rower Across the Atlantic and Pacific
2017, Sports & Adventure
Presented By: John Beeden
John Beeden took on two oceans as a solo rower, first the Atlantic at the age of 49 and then the Pacific, because he felt he was just ‘finding his stride’. The Pacific route took him diagonally across the Trade Winds for a journey that was initially estimated to last 140-180 days, but he was barely half the way by day 106. He ended up spending seven-months at sea – 208 days – becoming the first person to go solo mainland to mainland non-stop across the Pacific. He joined us at ideacity in 2017 to share the whys and how of that journey.
