Author and Canadian icon Peter C. Newman talks about arriving to Canada as a refugee in 1940 and being forced to give up his religious identity for a Canadian one. Peter discusses his experience as both a fiction and non-fiction writer and as a reporter and argues that stories are important because they pass on emotion and can be sources of entertainment. Peter brings up some establishment secrecy and concludes with four suggestions for living life in Canada. “Don’t take Canadian citizenship for granted” is one of them. Another: “Touch the earth”.
