Erna Paris – A Study Of War And Memory

2003, Cultural Studies, Politics & Activism
Presented By: Erna Paris

Author Erna Paris has come to speak on war and memory, trying to understand how nations come to terms with the most painful parts of their history. Her subject has to do with the way majorities and minorities live together. It’s to do with what happens to make people who may have lived happily for centuries in the same place suddenly discover that they are no longer friends but enemies. She is trying to figure out what the triggers are that make that happen. Erna covers many levels of her work as well as the experience that started her deep curiosity into historical memory.
