Witold Rybozynski

Witold Rybczynski is an architect, author, essayist and expert in design and urbanism. He is currently Martin and Margy Meyerson Chair in Urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is founding co-editor of the Wharton Real Estate Review and Director of the Urban Design Program.

He is a regular contributor to The New York Review of BooksThe Atlantic Monthly and The New Yorker and is the author of numerous books and articles on architecture and design, including City LifeHomeWaiting for the WorldLooking Around and A Clearing in the Distance, the acclaimed biography of Frederick Law Olmsted (the pioneering landscape architect who created Manhattan’s Central Park).

Rybczynski has lectured at Yale, Harvard and MIT and is an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He received his Bachelor of Architecture and his Master of Architecture degrees from McGill University.
