Tyler Brûlé



Tyler Brûlé is a Canadian journalist, entrepreneur and magazine publisher. He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Monocle magazine, “a briefing on global affairs, business, culture and design”, which is published in over 65 countries. Brûlé has also opened Monocle stores in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka and New York.

Brûlé began his journalism career with the BBC, and went on to write for publications such as The Guardian, The Sunday Times and Vanity Fair. In 1996 he started the award-winning fashion and lifestyle magazine Wallpaper, which was bought by Time Inc. in 1997.

Brûlé writes a weekly column for the Financial Times and his writing also appears regularly in the International Herald Tribune and the New York Times. He was the youngest ever recipient of the British Society of Magazine Editors’ Lifetime Achievement Award. He also runs a highly-successful branding and advertising agency, Winkreative, whose clients include Swiss International Airlines, Abercrombie & Fitch, and the Aga Khan.
