Second City

Second City

The Second City Toronto’s Mainstage Cast (2004) consisted of Matt Baram, Paul Constable, Sandy Jobin-Bevans, Jamillah Ross and Naomi Snieckus.

Fresh from glowing reviews from Armeget-it-on! (called a “Comedic Revelation” by The National Post, and a show that” …restores your faith in the notion that this brand of comedy can both cut to the bone and be raucously funny” by The Toronto Sun), the troupe’s latest show is called Invasion Free Since 1812.

The venerable Second City – known throughout North America as the “Temple of Satire” and for launching the careers of John Candy, Martin Short, Mike Myers, Dan Aykroyd and Chris Farley – opened its doors in Chicago in 1959. Although the company made Toronto its home in 1973 and is still Canadian-owned, Second City also has locations in Los Angeles, Detroit, Las Vegas and Chicago.

Invasion Free Since 1812 is the company’s 55th revue, and is billed as a provocative view of Canada’s role in the global picture through satire and improvisation.
