Ronald Wright is the author of seven books, published around the world in many languages. His first novel, A Scientific Romance (1997), won Britain’s David Higham Prize for Fiction and was chosen as book of the year by The New York TimesThe Globe & Mail and The Sunday Times (UK). It was described by The New Yorker as “…an elegant novel, gripping and lyrical; you struggle to slow down but find yourself rushing forward.”

He is also known for his award-winning nonfiction, including the number-one bestsellers, Stolen Continents (1992) and Time Among the Maya (1989). Born in England, he moved to Canada in 1970 and now lives in Port Hope, Ontario.

His latest novel, Henderson’s Spear, has just been published in Canada, Britain and Australia, and comes out in the USA and Germany in 2002. The Sunday Times praised its “powerful evocation of the Pacific world” and Maclean’s has described it as “…a truly global novel, a taut, eye-opening yarn, enhanced by the subtle dance of Wright’s historical intelligence and a talent for poetic phrasing that lodges images in the mind with the deadly stealth of a blowgun.”
