Richard Dawkins

Richard Dawkins is an internationally renowned evolutionary biologist and science writer. He is currently the Charles Simonyi Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at the University of Oxford.

Dawkins is the author of nine books, writes newspaper and magazine articles and is a frequent broadcaster. He did his D.Phil. under the Nobel Prize-winning zoologist Niko Tinbergen and has honorary doctorates of literature and science. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society. His medals and prizes include the Silver Medal of the Zoological Society, the Michael Faraday Award of the Royal Society, the Nakayama Prize, the Cosmos International Prize, the Kistler Prize, the Shakespeare Prize and the Lewis Thomas Prize.

His latest venture is setting up a charitable foundation, the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science.
