Pamela Wallin

Pamela Wallin is a former Canadian journalist and diplomat who was appointed to the Senate of Canada on December 22, 2008. She is Chair of the Senate’s National Security and Defence Committee, and serves on both the Veterans Affairs subcommittee and the Senate’s Foreign Affairs & International Trade Committee. She has authored two books: Since You Asked and Speaking of Success.

Wallin started her career in journalism with the CBC Radio news division, before moving to the Ottawa bureau of the Toronto Star. She then moved to CTV, where she co-hosted Canada AM. In 1992, Wallin debuted with Peter Mansbridge as co-host of Prime Time News. She then produced her own daily interview series, Pamela Wallin Live.

Pamela was Consul General of Canada in New York from 2002-2006. She continues her work as the Senior Advisor on Canada-US relations at the Americas Society and the Council of the Americas in New York.
