Jacob Abrahamse

Jacob began performing as a vocal soloist when he was only two years old. At the age of six, he played Toto in the musical Oz. Since then, he has performed in the musicals TitanicSeussical the Meussical and in the opera Dead Man Walking. Jacob also played the lead role in Amahl and the Night VisitorsHungry – A Musical Hansel and Gretel and You Don’t Know the Half of It. Abrahamse recently performed in the workshop version of Murray Schafer’s opera The Children’s Crusade. He will return to this role for its world premiere at this year’s Luminato Festival, which is co-commissioned by Soundstreams Canada and directed by Tim Albery.

As a soloist, Jacob has been the recipient of 6 consecutive Potten Rose Bowl Vocal Challenge trophies from the Kiwanis Music Festival. He also received a civic award for Community Betterment from the City of Peterborough for his musical and artistic contributions to the community and a Bright Lights Bursary award from Market Hall Theatre in Peterborough.
