F.H. Buckley

Frank Buckley is a Canadian-American academic who has taught in Canada, the States and France. His recent book The Once and Future King explains how dull, boring Canada emerged with a much better system of government than the United States, and why the American form of presidential government has almost everywhere proven a threat to freedom. He is annoyed that no one taught him this in high school.

He supports his conclusions with empirical research. There are too many theories around, and not enough evidence. At the same time, he believes that not everything that counts can be counted.

He has written on laughter, the rise of aristocracy, and the baroque. With his wife, Esther, he lives in Alexandria VA, the hometown of George Washington and Jim Morrison.
