Eva Vertes is a medical researcher working on neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

When Eva Vertes was 16 years old and participating in her high school’s science fair, she discovered a compound that represented an important step towards a potential cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. She continued her research at Princeton University as an undergraduate before going on to study medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Vertes is interested in the relationship between stem cells and cancer cells, and is exploring the possibility that cancer might actually be the body’s natural repair system gone hyper-active.
