Duo Similia

Duo Similia

Identical twins Nadia and Annie Labrie share more than just their looks. The passion for music brought them together to form Duo Similia in 1998. A most unlikely duo of flute (Nadia) and guitar (Annie), the French-Canadian sisters trained at both the Quebec Music Conservatory and at the Université de Montreal, and have received advanced tuition in France, Austria, Canada, the United States and Spain.

Nadia Labrie has soloed with The Orchestre symphonique de I’Estuaire, and has toured America, Europe and Asia as a member of the Orchestre Mondial des Jeunesses Musicales, while Annie Labrie has performed as a soloist with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Together, they have received grants from, among others, the Conseil des arts et des letters du Quebec, the Beaulieu-Langis Foundation and the Bourse de la Savoyane, and have won the Canadian Music Competition. As Duo Similia, Nadia and Annie Labrie have released two albums, Cantabile and Nota Del Sol, performing pieces from both Classical and Contemporary composers.
