Chris Buck

It’s probably safe to say that Margaret Atwood, Eminem and Dolly (the cloned sheep) have one thing in common. They’ve all sat for one of North America’s hottest photographers: Chris Buck.

Entertainment Weekly photo editor Michele Romero declares: “With Chris, I know I’m going to get something that’s going to be either very odd or completely wonderful.”

Born in 1964, as “A Hard Day’s Night” topped the charts, Buck studies photography at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute from 1983-87. He got his professional start with The Nerve and Graffiti, then moved to New York in 1990. In the fall of 1998 the Saba Gallery in New York City hosted Buck’s first solo show, fanClub.

His clients include PremiereEsquireFast CompanyNikeHewlett-Packard and IBM. His list of famous subjects ranges from Salmon Rushdie to David Hasselhoff, Judge Bork to Björk, and Sean “Puffy” Combs to George “W.” Bush.
