Bill Lishman

Nicknamed “Father Goose” by Barbara Walters, Bill is a pioneer in ultralight aviation and the first human to lead flying birds in formation.

He also initiated the use of ultralight aircraft in establishing new migration routes for birds. His work has been documented numerous times including on ABC’s 20/20 and in two hit feature films, Fly Away Home and Winged Migration. Bill has received numerous awards including the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal and the U.S. National Wildlife Federation 2002 Conservation Award.

Lishman is also a world renowned artist. His works include award-winning films, numerous works of public art and a best-selling autobiography. His current passion is Air First Aid, a unique plan to use a worldwide network of ultralight aviators as first responders to victims of natural disasters.
