Bill Friedman

Bill Friedman

Bill Friedman was born in 1946 in Hanover, Germany and, after arriving in Montreal at the age of two, Bill pursued an education and career in law.

Working extensively in the area of corporate law, Bill is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Quebec Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. He is rated A.V. in Martindale & Hubble and is noted in L’Expert, a Canadian legal rating association, as an expert by his colleagues in commercial law.

These accomplishments all contribute to an undeniably impressive legal career, but the most surprising titles Bill holds are the ones he has garnered from bodybuilding. Bill took up bodybuilding in 2000 and shortly after he placed first overall in the 2005 Toronto International Bodybuilding Competition. Bill’s extreme transformation of his body was the focus of his son Bryan’s film, The Bodybuilder and I, and as a result of the film’s success, winning Best Canadian Feature Documentary at the 2007 Hot Docs Festival, Bill has become an unlikely icon for the power of the aging body.
