Al Seckel

The world’s leading authority on illusions, Al Seckel has lectured extensively on this topic at many prestigious institutions. He is the author of 15 popular books on illusions and is currently working on a comprehensive academic treatise on the subject for MIT Press.

Seckel has his own regular feature column in National Geographic Kids magazine. He is also actively involved in building interactive galleries on illusions for science museums all over the world and is a Research Fellow in the Koch Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology.

Seckel’s background is in theoretical physics and he was a close student of the physicist Richard Feynman. Aside from his interest in illusions and perception, his passion lies in doing philanthropic work and education. He is also a member of edge.org, a prestigious group of thinkers and achievers.
