Architect Daniel Libeskind (2002) Unveils Plans for Latest Project
Five years before the completion of the Renaissance ROM project that redefined the façade of one of Toronto’s most iconic cultural institutions, Daniel Libeskind, the visionary architect behind the transformation, took the stage at ideacity 2002. That year marked the start of a five-year process that culminated in not only a new entrance to the museum, but a world-class architectural addition to the city’s streetscape.
Since delivering his ideacity presentation nearly 12 years ago, Libeskind has continued to leave his mark on urban centres around the world, with modern structures characterized by an inimitable marriage of monumentality and movement. With projects underway from Milan to Sao Paulo, it’s clear that his skills are in high demand. This week, the plans for yet another landmark were added to that list, this time a new home for the much-lauded Ogden Centre for Fundamental Physics at Durham University. Read on here.
