Mehran Anvari – Telesurgery

2005, Health & Longevity
Presented By: Mehran Anvari

Dr. Mehran Anvari teaches the audience about the future of surgery: Telesurgery. Mehran explains why Canada is facing a health care crisis and how telesurgery can help. Telesurgery allows surgeons to operate on patients in other cities, countries, and even across the world, which means that patients no longer have to travel great distances to receive the operation they need. To operate, Mehran connects to a machine that allows him to control robotic arms in the operating room. Mehran explains that the cost benefits of this new technology will allow for major expansion of health care services.
