Arthur Kroker
The Krokers have been called “the hipsters of Canadian media theory,” “urbane and sexy… their ideas steeped in savoir faire, cyberpunk, and pomo lit crit.” He is the co-editor and co-publisher, with Marilouise Kroker, of the cutting-edge e-zine CTHEORY, an international journal of theory, technology and culture. He is the prolific author of dozens of publications: among the most recent are Data Trash, Spasm, Digital Delirium and Hacking the Future. His writings have been translated into Japanese, Italian, Dutch, French, German and Russian.
An internationally known writer and lecturer in the areas of technology and contemporary culture, Mr. Kroker and his work have been featured in television and print interviews, including a recent two-hour documentary on CBC’s The Passionate Eye. With Marilouise Kroker, he has lectured and performed at sites around the world, including the ICA, Whitney Museum of American Art, Pacific Film Archive at the University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco Art Institute, Banff Centre for the Arts, the Multi-Media Centre at the University of Cologne, and in performance spaces in Vienna, Venice, Hamburg and Zurich.
