Carl Honoré
Honoré’s first book, In Praise of Slow, has been translated into 28 languages and landed on bestseller lists in many countries, including Canada, where it was the subject of a cover story by Maclean’s magazine.
The book examines our compulsion to hurry and chronicles a global trend toward putting on the brakes. Honoré worked with street children in Brazil before turning to writing. He has been a foreign correspondent in both Europe and South America for publications including The Economist, National Post and The Miami Herald.
Honoré now spends a lot of time racing around the world telling people how wonderful it is to slow down. He is working on his second book, which will examine childhood in the 21st century. He lives in London with his wife, who is also a writer, and their two children.
