Tracy Worcester on the rise of the factory farm

2010, Cultural Studies
Presented By: Tracy Worcester

Tracy Worcester’s most recent documentary, Pig Business, charts the rise of the factory farm in the US and the spread of this industrial model internationally, as multinationals comb the globe for good investment climates. Her film exposes the true cost of cheap meat: compliant governments, generous subsidies, low wages, poor enforcement of environmental standards and little regard for animal welfare.
