Ta’Kaiya Blaney on the importance of culture

Ta’Kaiya Blaney, age 11, sings Oh Canada, a stunning version of Amazing Grace in the Sliammon language, and a composition of her own called Shallow Waters. The latter is followed by an urgent environmental message against big oil pipelines and their destruction of Blaney’s ancestral land and the resources on which we all depend.
