Justin Trudeau – Thinking Broadly

2001, Cultural Studies
Presented By: Justin Trudeau

Justin Trudeau discusses the central role education plays in shaping the child’s transition into adulthood. The issue, Justin explains, is that too often education requires a vast and unnecessary accumulation of knowledge, most, if not all, of which can now be found on the internet. This accumulation leads to a loss of wonder, Justin says, and it is wonder and inquiry that allow us to face problems with an open mind. Justin argues that the task of education is to challenge students to question the world, empowering us all with the skills to be active and critical participants in solving its ever-changing problems.
