Back to School with ideacity Part 3 – Technology

22/09/2015

All throughout the month of September, we here at ideacity will be sharing with you some inspiring videos from our archives to take you back to school and get inspired for the upcoming year.

This week we will be featuring three speakers who have inspired and delighted the mind in the technology industry. Throughout the years we have seen some amazing innovators on our stage who come to discuss the latest and greatest in technology. These next speakers are pushing the boundaries and taking us to places our minds never though they would reach. Watch these next three talks and don’t forget to visit our full video archive on science and technology to see what other speakers we have.

Our first speaker is Ray Kurzweil who spoke with us in 2008. In his talk he theorizes that the next few decades will be very important and transformative within the realm of technology. Watch this first talk here and see just how far we have come in the past seven years.

Randi Zuckerberg joined us in 2009 when social media was still in its infancy. In her talk, she discusses her role at Facebook and why she believes that the future of technology is going to have a large social impact. Watch her talk here and learn more about technology and social media.

Our final speaker is Izhar Gafni who joined us in 2013 with his innovation: a cardboard bicycle. Wanting to help change the world, Gafni developed this durable, functional and affordable (it’s only $9) bike that would allow children in underprivileged countries get to and from school. Watch this fan favourite’s talk here and learn just how design and tech can intersect.

All three of these featured speakers have crossed boundaries in the technology industry and will definitely give you some food for thought through their progress and innovations. Be sure to visit our blog next Tuesday to see the final part of our Back to School with ideacity series.
