Chester Brown



Chester Brown is the acclaimed, best-selling cartoonist of the books Ed The Happy Clown; Paying For It: A Comic Strip About Being a John; Louis Riel: A Comic Strip Biography; I Never Liked You; The Little Man and The Playboy.  He lives in Toronto where he has been the Libertarian Party of Canada’s candidate for the riding of Trinity-Spadina since 2008.

Brown was born in Montreal, Canada, and as a teenager was fascinated by monster and superhero comic books. Upon moving to Toronto around the age of 20, Brown became influenced more by underground graphic artists such as Robert Crumb and Will Eisner.  His first publication was his serial comic book Yummy Fur.

Brown lives in Toronto and regularly collaborates with fellow artists Seth and Joe Matt.
