Has the United Nations lost its effectiveness? Professor Aurel Braun, an expert in international strategic studies and conflict resolution, joins a panel discussion on the United Nations.

Aurel Braun is a Professor of International Relations and Political Science at the University of Toronto. Between 2012 and 2015, he was a Visiting Professor in the Department of Government at Harvard University.

In 2009, the Federal Cabinet made Professor Braun the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development for a three-year term. In 2012, Professor Braun was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for services to Canada and for academic distinction by the Governor-General of Canada.

Professor Braun has published extensively on international relations and strategic studies and is a specialist in international law. He is the author and editor of several books, including his forthcoming book is on Russia, the West and Arctic Security.
